Readership
Each issue of Contingencies is distributed to the entire membership of the American Academy of Actuaries as well as financial professionals interested in the actuarial perspective on a range of financial and social concerns.
Our total print circulation reaches more than 34,000 readers in the United States and Canada—more than any other actuarial magazine!
Each issue is delivered to decision makers, high-profile executives, and experts representing the variety of fields and industries within which actuaries work. Non-actuarial readers include professionals in law, risk management, and benefit administration, as well as government officials, policymakers, educators, and regulators.
Actuaries are a prime audience for advertisers. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics at the Department of Labor, the median annual salary for actuaries in 2014-5 is $93,680 (about three times the combined average for all U.S. occupations), and the top 10 percent of actuaries earn more than $175,000 annually. Many actuaries go on to become senior executives in the insurance and financial services industry.
